The Festival

Actor, producer and director Ricardo Darín will star in the official poster of the 74 edition of the San Sebastian Film Festival, which will be held from 18 to 26 September 2026.

The posters have been designed by the Wallijai Donostiarra studio. In the case of the poster starring Darin, they have created a collage from a portrait taken in 2024. 

Along with theofficial poster, posters from the other sections have also been released,wishing to pay tribute to the film trades. Thus, the poster with the image of Darin sends us to the performance, while the rest has to do with script (New Directors), sound (Latin Horizons), direction (Zabaltegi-Tabakalera), montage (Pearls), art direction (Nest), makeup (Culinary Cinema), special effects (Zinemira) and production (Made in Spain).

These posters will soon be joined by the threeClassics , which this year will pay tribute to the French filmmaker, novelist and screenwriter Jose Giovanni.

José Luis Rebordinos, director of the San Sebastián Film Festival, and Maialen Beloki, who will take his place from January, have taken the floor to present the poster of the next edition, which will begin on September 18.

The French filmmaker and novelist directed fifteen films and worked with Jacques Becker, Jean-Pierre Melville and Jacques Deray.

The platform's spokesman, Iñigo Rodriguez, has expressed his support for these people and recalled that some of them have been fined and others will be tried for participating in the protests at the last Return to Spain and the San Sebastian Film Festival.

After the success of the San Sebastian Film Festival, Alauda Ruiz de Azua's latest work opens in cinemas tomorrow.

Alauda Ruiz de Azua and her film "Los Domingos" have won the Golden Shell of the 73rd edition of the San Sebastian Film Festival. The director has declared that he is living "a dream" but that we will still have to wait to see how the audience picks up the film in the halls.

The Basque actress has won the award for the best performance of the San Sebastian Film Festival for her rolein the film Maspalomas , Ex aequo, along with the Chinese Zhao Xiaohong (Her heart beats in its cage).

The Basque actor Jose Ramon Soroiz has won the award for the best performance of the San Sebastian Festival for his work in 'Maspalomas'. The award has been for Ex aequo, along with the Chinese actor Zhao Xiaohong ('Her heart beats in its cage').

The film "The New Age" tells the story that the workers of a water meter factory have gathered together to discuss a strike that will not go ahead in the end. Disappointed, the most unconformists will focus their aspirations for radical transformation on more intimate areas. Some will leave the factory and join an isolated mountain community where dozens of young people will search intensively through shared cathartic experiences.

The Perlak film The Voice of Hind Rajab has been the winner of the Audience Award, which has been awarded to producer Odessa Rae and actress Motaz Malhees.  The actor has explained that this award means that "the public has heard the voice of Hid", the girl who died after spending hours in a vehicle shot by the Israeli Army.
