It's time for David Perez Sañudo's new film, "Sacamanteas."
The film, in which EITB participates, is part of the Official Section, out of competition. After today's premiere, it will be shown tomorrow at the RTVE-EITB Gala, at 22:00, at the Victoria Eugenia Theatre.
Today, Sunday,Sacamanteas begins in San Sebastian to talk about thenew work of David Perez Sañudo. It opens in the Official Section , outof competition, at 8:30 a.m. at the Main Theatre. Tomorrow, Monday, it will star in the RTVE-EITB Gala, at 22:00 p.m. at the Victoria Eugenia Theatre.
La Claqueta is a Basque production of PC, Amania Films, La Cruda Realidad and the Belgian Caviar, with the participation of EITB, as well as 19 other productions of the 74 Festival.
The story is set in nineteenth-century Álava, with Juan Díaz de Garayo as Sacamanteas, an illiterate peasant known outside Vitoria for strangling women. The film tries to understand why the woman ended up dying, according to Pérez Sañudo himself. Along with him, Sergio Granda signs the script.
Alberto de la Torre will be the murderer of Díaz de Garayo, and he begins to be considered a suspect by Patricia Lopez Arnaiz (Angela Berrosteguieta, sister of one of the victims).
This is the third time that Perez Sañudo has participated in the Film Festival in the New Directors section, along with The Last Romantics in 2024 and Anein 2020 (2020), which won the Goya for the best adapted screenplay alongside Marina Parés.
After its premiere at the Main Theatre at 8:30, the main performance will take place within the framework of the RTVE-EITB Gala. The film also awaits two other sessions: Tuesday at 22:00 in Antigua Berri and Friday at 23:15 at the Victoria Eugenia Theatre. All tickets are sold out.
