The film and science cycle will deal with humanity, nature and the future
The ninth edition of the "Cinema and Science" cycle will propose from today, January 7, "reflect on humanity, nature and the future." The cycle will begin with the screening of the film "The Planet of the Apes."
Organized by the Basque Film Library, the Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC) and the San Sebastian Film Festival, the cycle will return to its usual venues in Vitoria-Gasteiz (Artium Museum), Donostia-San Sebastián (Tabakalera International Centre for Contemporary Culture), Bilbao Museum of Fine Arts (Bilbao), San Sebastián (Tabakalera International Centre for Contemporary Culture).
The film that will propose cycles proposes for this edition films that speak of biology, physics, ecology, anthropology, mathematics and ethics, such as "The Planet of the Apes", "The Wild Child" (subtitles in Basque), "The Social Network" (subtitles in Basque), "The Birds", "The Fly", "The Professor Chiflado", "The Destellos", "The Third Man" (subtitles in Basque)...
During these months, each film will be presented by specialists from the DIPC, the UPV, research centers and areas of biology, chemistry, acoustics, anthropology and philosophy: Pedro Miguel Etxenike, Juan Jose Gomez Cadenas, Ginés Morata
The program will be projected entirely in San Sebastián, Bilbao, Vitoria and Pamplona, while in San Juan de Luz you can see the Wild Child, Social Network, La mosca, Tercer Hombre, La balada de Narayama and Nausica○ del Valle del Viento .
Tickets (3.50 to 6 euros) can be purchased at the websites and lockers of Tabakalera, the Artium Museum, the Bilbao Museum of Fine Arts, as well as at the cinemas Le Sélect and Golem-Baiona.
