New Zealand actor Sam Neill dies
The actor who played paleontologist Alan Grant in the Jurassic Park saga also appeared in the Piano and Red October Hunt movies.
Sam Neill, the New Zealand actor who was popularized by the incarnation of Alan Grant in the Jurassic Park saga, died on Monday in Sydney at the age of 78.
Saddened by his grief, his family would like to report that Sam Neill died today, July 13, in Sydney, Australia. Sam had his family around him and died with the dignity he had shown throughout his life.
Neill won the Australian Academy Awards for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor, the New Zealand Film Award and three Golden Globes nominations and two Emmy Awards, one of which she won for her role in the Merlin Series.
