The counselor has reiterated the importance of smart manufacturing, renewable energy, sustainable mobility or artificial intelligence in the near future.
The Minister for Energy Transition and Sustainability, Mikel Jauregi, has stressedthe "importance"of the Basque technology centres for the development of the industrial development of the Basque Country .
This Friday he had a meeting with Jesús Valero , Director General of the Tecnalia Research Center, at his headquarters in the Gipuzkoa Technology Park, San Sebastiann
In it, Jáuregui stresses that "The influential initiatives being promoted by the Basque technology centres" will play a crucial role in the industrial development of the Basque Country in the coming years.
In this regard, it has stressed the work of Tecnalia "for its commitment to the technological and industrial development of our country" and has reiterated "its importance to the companies of the Basque Country, especially small and medium-sized enterprises", which, according to Jauregi, "makesR & D & i a guarantee of the economic future when it is put at the service of the productive fabric and generates quality employment, as in this case ".
It has also stressed the importance of this technology centre in "key" areas for the future of the Basque Country, such as "intelligent manufacturing, renewable energy, sustainable mobility or artificial intelligence, where Tecnalia is a reference".
After the meeting, they visited the Hydrogen Laboratory, where Tecnalia currently has more than 1,520 workers , of whom 315 are doctors, and an income of 137 million euros last year.
