EH Bildu welcomes the new transfer agreement, but calls for a "peer-to-peer" relationship with the state

EH Bilduwelcomes the agreement reached betweenthe Basque Government and the Spanish Government to complete five outstanding transfers , but declares "a relationship of equals with the State".
Through social media, EH Bildu's spokesman in the Basque Parliament, Pello Otxandiano, has welcomed "everything that increases the ability of the Basques to decide on issues that affect our daily lives and the well-being of our citizens."
"Welcome to the left-wing sovereigns all that is good for the people. In any case, the continuous delays and violations of46 years, as well as the silent erosion of our self-government, demonstrate the need to build a different relationship with the state: between equals and with guarantees. "
Government spokeswoman Maria Ubarretxena announced on Thursday that theagreement will formalize the transfer of competences relating to unemployment benefits, non-contributory family social security benefits, maritime rescue, school insurance and the Machinery Certification Centre in Barakaldo (Bizkaia).

The spokeswoman for the Basque Government, Maria Ubarretxena, has confirmed that the meeting will take place tomorrow at 10.30 a.m. in Madrid, after two days of contacts with the Spanish Government.
