Andy Burnham takes over the leadership of the British Government on Monday
This Monday, Andy Burnham will take over as Prime Minister of theUnited Kingdom after he was appointed Labour Party leader last Friday . The hitherto mayor of Manchester will take over from Keir Starmer, who resigned.
Burnham has promised a comprehensive economic reform to meet the challenge of economic recovery, and has announced major changes in this area, thereby cancelling the plan to implement the new digital identity card to start saving.
In this context, the United Kingdom is looking forward to the Ministry of the Economy , initially expected to be the current Secretary of State for Energy Security, Ed Miliband, but opposed the adoption of new gas and oil licences in the North Sea off the coast of Scotland.
Some media reports suggest that Andy Burnham could accept these licenses and, as a result, could elect the current Interior Minister, Shabana Mahmood, as head of the Department of Economics.
Seven Prime Ministers
Burnham, who will be the seventh prime minister since 2016, when Brexit was passed by referendum, has made an 'express' journey to Downing Street number 10: in just over a month he has resigned as mayor of Manchester, been elected deputy, later appointed Labour leader, and finally head of government.
Thus, it remains to be seen what position the country will take in terms of reindustrialization, political decentralization or strengthening the purchasing power of the working classes, as well as whether it will maintain the same orientation in the field of migration and foreign policy.
