It was precisely Jesus Polo, chairman of the Belate Tunnel Works Contracting Bureau, who was the first to speak to the Commission, who denied that there was "corruption" at least as far as he was concerned, and stressed that he had not received any political pressure, that he did not know Santos Cerdán and that he did not know that he had anything to do with any of the companies that had obtained the contract.
Going further, they ask him if he can confirm that there has been no corruption, and he replies that he cannot assume that there has been no corruption, but that he has not.
He has also pointed out that he has not spoken to any member of the Government prior to today's appearance or to politicians, nor has he received any instruction regarding the Temporary Union of Companies (UTE) that won the work, consisting of Acciona, Osés and Servinabar.
