Supreme Criminal Division Judge Leopoldo Puente has issued a summary order against the former Minister of Transport for alleged irregular contracts for kissing during the covid pandemic. The former minister is charged with bribery, membership of a criminal organization, trafficking in influence and embezzlement of public funds.
Supreme Court Criminal Division Judge Leopoldo Puente today issued an order forsummary proceedings against former Transport Minister José Luis Ábalos, accused, among others, of irregular kissing contracts during the covid pandemic.
All three shall be investigated for bribery, membership of a criminal organization, trafficking in influence and embezzlement of public funds.
In the order, the investigator submits the proceedings to the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Public Prosecutor's Office, so that they may request , within a common period of 10 days, the opening of oral proceedings by means of an indictment or the dismissal of the case, or, exceptionally, the conduct of additional proceedings.
