The Basque Parliament calls for "discussions with respect", without any special mention of De Andrés
After the PP president said EH Bildu's "massacre" would come, the abertzale coalition has asked for support from the Bureau of Parliament.
The Bureau of the Basque Parliament approved on Tuesday a declaration calling for the holding of debates that will be"respectful and constructive" because the president of the Basque PP, Javier de Andrés, announced the "massacre" of the abertzale coalition in response to the request for support made by EH Bildu. However, the text does not expressly mention du De Andrés, so EH Bildu has expressed his disagreement with the president.
The PNV eta PSE-EE has acceptedthe declaration en which states that, "in the face of situations that have occurred repeatedly in recent times", it is essential to "protect the security of parliamentary life and the confidence of citizens", for which it considers "a respectful constructive debate, far from a qualified expression or attitude that seeks indignation or personal harm".
According to the text, the climate of respect must be the 'identity mark' and 'heritage' of the Basque Parliament, and it calls on parliamentarians to act responsibly so that 'they avoid dynamics that distort the function of representation' and 'words are the only valid instruments'.
EH Bildu has not supported the text. The Member of Parliament, Eraitz Saez de Egilaz, has explained that the Bureau has rejected the support requested by the abertzale coalition and believes thatthe words of E AJ and PSE-EE De Andrés "are being justified with such a generic text".
The president of the Basque PP, Javier De Andrés, made these controversial words during the plenary election of the Ombudsman, Mikel Mancisidor.
