The President of the Spanish Government has condemned the "violation of the territorial integrity" of Spain and has stressed that the Government will respond firmly.
The President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, has said that behind the migration crisis that has erupted in recent years is, in part, the action of mafias engaged in human trafficking, criminal groups that have taken advantage of the recent Supreme Court ruling on border refunds in an interested way to organisethe massive influx of migrants.
During his appearance in Ceuta, Sanchez pointed out that these criminal organizations have disseminated that this court decision facilitates access to the autonomous city, which, according to him, has prompted thousands of people to leave Morocco.
Condemns the "attack" on territorial integrity
The Chief Executive has described what happened as an "attack" and a "violation of the territorial integrity of Spain" and has conveyed to the citizens of the United States the support of the entire country and has ensured that the Government is aware of the "gravity" in which its citizens live.
Sánchez has ensured that the State will provide all necessary means to restore normalcy and deal with the situation in cooperation with all the administrations involved.
A commitment to act against criminal networks
According to the president, one of the main points of response must be to act against criminal networks that benefit from irregular migration, and he has therefore reiterated that he will continue to work to ensure that such situations do not recur.
