The Spanish Government is working on the transfer to the peninsula of some 500 unaccompanied migrant girls who are in Ceuta after the massive entry in late July. The Ministry of Youth and Children is studying to ensure that child protection agencies receive them in adapted resources, without the need to transfer their guardianship to the Autonomous Communities.
The Spanish Government is working urgently in Ceuta and bringing 500 unaccompanied migrant girls to the peninsula, sources from the Ministry of Youth and Children told Europa Press.
The measure is part of a comprehensive plan for the reception of migrant minors who arrived in Ceuta at the massive entrance in July, coordinated by the Secretary of State for Youth and Children, Rubén Pérez, who has been in the city since last Sunday.
Specialized resources of the Peninsula
The Plan contains a Royal Decree-Law establishing binding and supportive care for all the Autonomous Communities, as well as foster care, and the Ministry of Youth and Children is considering other ways of speeding up the care of minors.
These alternatives include a way for child protection organizations to develop the reception and care of the most vulnerable profiles, including girls, in adapted resources located on the peninsula.
According to the Ministry, this formula would allow the transfer ofminors without the need to transfer guardianship to the Autonomous Communities.

Currently, the Spanish Government is working on this path for a certain number of minors, about 500 girls, but the number may vary throughout the process.
The measure is among the alternatives being considered by the Ministry of Youth and Children to address the situation of unaccompanied migrant minors remaining in Ceuta and to ensure their reception and protection, especially in cases of greatest vulnerability.
