President Pradales today begins a round of meetings with political parties and socio-economic actors
The aim of these meetings will be to analyse the political and socio-economic situation of the Basque Autonomous Community, to discuss the proposed budgets of the Basque Government for next year and to find a way to deepen self-government. Today, Jon Hernández, spokesperson for the Parliamentary Summary, and Javier de Andrés, president of the Basque PP, will sit with the lehendakari Imanol Pradales.

On Wednesday, September 9, he will meet with the spokesmen of the PSE-EE (Eneko Andueza), EH Bildu (Pello Otxandiano) and the PNV (Joseba Diez Antxustegi). Vox is the only party that Pradales has not called for these appointments.
Pradales will also meet with the leaders of UGT and CCOO (Friday 11), the leaders of LAB and ELA (Monday 14) and, finally, the president of the employers Confebask, Tamara Yagü( Tuesday 15).
The President himself announced this round of meetings on 28 August, following the first meeting of the Governing Council after the summer break. Pradales explained that at the meetings he expressed his intention to address theeconomic situation and the updating of self-government and to address the second half of the legislature "from dialogue" .
The aim of these meetings is " to share a diagnosis of the current situation, to strengthen the climate of dialogue and to seek agreements in the Basque Country in the face of a scenario marked by international uncertainty and the new electoral cycle opening in 2027 ".
THE AXES OF MEETINGS
Meetings will be organized around three areas of work . The first will be the economic situation and future prospects for growth and employment. The evolution of economic forecasts and inflation, measures taken in response to the situation in Hormuz, the impact of climate change and support for the primary sector will be analysed. In this area, with a view to the draft Basque Country Budgets for 2027, the Lehendakari will share general guidelines with the parties and social partners.
The second area will bethe self-government . Pradales will transfer to the parliamentary groups the will of the Basque Government to reach agreements beyond the majority of the Basque Parliament.
The Lehendakari shall also report on the status of negotiations with the Spanish Government on outstanding transfers to complete the Gernika Statute.The third area will include areas such as industry, the economy, the Basque Country and housing .
