The Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Spanish Government does not wish to set deadlines, but he is convinced that all Member States will support the recognition of Basque, Catalan and Galician as official languages in the European institutions.

Despite the current linguistic emergency in the Basque Country, the Secretary-General of the Basque Culture Council, Idurre Eskisabel, has stressed that the situation has a solution. He has stressed that social attachment to the Basque Country is a key factor, but that although individual commitment is essential, it is in itself insufficient and requires strong structural responses and public policies.

The Council of Basque Culture has convened this Saturday to fill the Bilbao Arena. The High Court of Justice of the Basque Country has questioned the competence for administrative and municipal language policy in its final decisions . Iñigo Urrutia, a jurist and professor of administrative law, says that such decisions may increase political incompetence.

The sovereign coalition has called for participation in the event organized by the Basque Culture Council for this Saturday at the Bilbao Arena to join the "show of strength and unity of the Euskaltzales".

The High Court of Justice of the Basque Country has asked the Constitutional Court whether or not it is constitutional for all Basque public posts to have a linguistic profile in place. One of the three judges who were to decide has issued an individual opinion because, in his view, the law in question "does not cause any imbalance". The Basque Government sees no "legal reason" for asking the question.

In the face of the judicial onslaught against the Basque Country, the parties have been required to have a law that guarantees them to work and receive care in Basque in public services. LAB has asked the PNV for courage to support EH Bildu's proposal. ELA also believes that EH Bildu's proposal is better than that of jeltzales.  

On the 39th anniversary of the adoption of the Euskera Foral Act, the platform denounces that zoning "denies fundamental rights" and creates inequality among the Navarros, and calls on citizens to participate in the event to be held in Bilbao on 27 December.

The students of Hego Euskal Herria have joined the day of strike called by Ikama, with massive demonstrations in Pamplona, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Bilbao and Donostia-San Sebastián. Euskara is suffering a judicial and political onslaught and the current educational model despises the Euskera.
