Demonstrations

On Friday, Bilbao, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Donostia-San Sebastián and Pamplona/Iruña held mass demonstrations in defence of housing, convened by the Socialist Housing Union and the Euskal Herria Housing Trade Union Network.

The mobilization to demand better educational conditions began last week in the Paris region and has spread across the country, with more than 600 detainees and dozens injured across France.

They have demonstrated in Madrid and Pamplona/Iruña to demand that the European Union assume its responsibility in the case and criticise the "racist and colonial violence" suffered by migrants.

The events took place on Sunday in a march called by Ernai against fascism, which was condemned by the mayor of San Sebastián and the delegate of the Spanish Government in the Basque Country.

Participants in the march have carried the flags of Cuba and other oppressed peoples.
