Anti-racism groups denounce the "repression" of migrants in Ceuta
They have demonstrated in Madrid and Pamplona/Iruña to demand that the European Union assume its responsibility in the case and criticise the "racist and colonial violence" suffered by migrants.

Convened by anti-racist groups, rallies were held today in various cities of the state of Ceuta, Madrid and Pamplona, among others, condemning colonial and racist borders and claiming the rights of migrants, denouncing the border policies of Spain, Morocco and the European Union (EU) and holding them responsible for what happened at the end of July.
In Madrid, half a thousand people have gathered at the Puerta del Sol (a figure provided by the government delegation in Madrid), convened by the Articulación Antirracista, SOS Racismo, Migrantes Transgresorxs and Border Resistance groups.
Under the slogan 'No instrumentalization and no repression. Enough of racist and colonialist violence', they are calling for an independent international investigation into all human rights violations in Ceuta.
According to the convenors, cases of racism and Islamophobia have increased by 70% in the summer, and minors and members of the LGTBIQ+ group have also put on the table their double vulnerability.
At the rally, a memorial camp was set up in memory of the more than 100 people killed in Ceuta, as well as victims of racism and xenophobia.

In the Navarre capital, the mobilization has started from the Plaza de los Merindades, convened by the Platform against Racism. Mugeta's "migration necropolicy" has been denounced and the European Union has been urged to abandon it.
With posters reading "Europe Guilty. Stop genocide" and "It's not security, it's racism," members of the platform denounce that the crisis is not caused by people who migrate, it's political. It's created by an inhumane border policy that determines which lives matter, who can travel safely and who has to risk their lives for it.
