In Galicia more than 95,000 hectares have been burned in the summer forest fires, but only three active fires of more than 20 hectares remain, two in Ourense and one in Lugo.

Six fires remain at the highest level of gravity and two have been declared this very Sunday. The positive development of the last few days has allowed six others to be taken under control. However, rising temperatures, coupled with reduced humidity and wind, complicate the situation again.

Since the start of the monsoon season, 706 people have died as a result of heavy rains in Pakistan, according to the latest official data. Around a thousand people in León have protested against the management carried out so far and have called for resignations, as well as the declaration of level 3 emergency, so that the management would be transferred from the Junta de Castilla y León to the Spanish Government.

Thus, four people have already died as a result of the fires on the Iberian peninsula, three of them in the province of León, where the fourth victim died on Tuesday from burns in Tres Cantos (Madrid).
