26,000 students will return to school this Monday in Iparralde
With the bags on their backs, 52,000 students from the Atlantic Pyrenees will return to schools this Monday, half of them in the Northern Basque Country and 13% of them in the Seaska immersion model.
The school in Samatze , Baja Navarra, will teach Gascon to children.
The head of language policy, Antton Kurutxarri, has explained that they will have three hours a week: "Our peculiarity is that there are two minority languages, Euskera and Gascon, and this is how this project has been born in the village of Samatze, dedicating three hours a week to the school."
