U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that Israel and Lebanon have agreed to a 10-day ceasefire that will enter into force this midnight.
"I have just had excellent talks with respected Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu. These two leaders have agreed that in order to achieve PEACE between their respective countries, they will formally begin a 10-day truce at 5:00 PM. EST (23:00 in the Basque Country)," Trump wrote on the social network Truth Social.
