How to Help People Affected by the Colombian Earthquake
Several organizations have set up channels to collect donations to help those affected by the 7.4 magnitude earthquake that struck Colombia.

The earthquake that struck north-west Colombia on Monday has caused extensive material and personal damage and mobilized emergency and rescue teams from across the country. Faced with the severity of the disaster, the Colombian Government has declared a 'national disaster' and several avenues have been prepared to channel international aid.
Colombian Red Cross
- The Colombian Red Crosshas prepared aspecial page to collect donations for food, drinking water, medical care, psychosocial assistance and emergency kits for affected families.
- Bank account: donations can also be made through the account number of the National Society of the Red Cross of Colombia at the Davivienda Bank: 0560455069996490 (NIT: 899999025-3)
- Mobile App: Daviplata, a free app developed by Davivienda Bank, allows direct transfers from mobile to the Colombian Red Cross. Once the app is downloaded, you must enter the 'Payments and Services' section, enter the 'Other Services' section and select or write 'Colombian Red Cross'.
UNHCR
The UN humanitarian agency, which provides assistance in that Latin American country, is responsible for delivering items, tents and mattresses of primary need to people affected by emergency situations, among others. Aid to Colombia is managed through its website .
In addition, other organizations have opened their own donation channels to ensure affected communities.
