Lezo Interal has called two strike days for an Employment Regulation Dossier that will affect 85 of its 226 workers
The works council has called the strike days for 26 June and 2 July, and plans to start an indefinite strike from 8 July.
The company Interal de Lezo (Gipuzkoa), dedicated to the manufacture of dehydrated and liquid food, has announced a file of labour regulation (LEE) that affects more than a third of its workers, which has led the works council to call two strike days on 26 June and 2 July, with the possibility of being indefinite from 8 June.
ELA has 5 representatives on the committee, UGT has 5 representatives and CCOO has issued 3. ELA has issued a press release explaining that the ERE would result in the dismissal of 85 of the 226 workers on the staff.
"The ERE is not justified because in recent years the company has made historic profits and even distributed dividends," says the abertzale union on Interal's decision, a company that supplies white brand broths, soups, sauces and other foods for well-known supermarket chains.
LEE's announcement has caused "unrest" among workers, as it is a "very traumatic" decision and the measure "would already affect 85 individuals."
