The Court of Álava has shelved the charges against 17 doctors investigated for alleged leaks at the Health Service's 2016-2017 Public Employment Offer and has decided to keep them open against 2 of the 19 investigated.
The Court of Álava has shelved the charges against 17 doctors investigated for alleged leaks to the Osakidetza-Basque Health Service Public Employment Offer 2016-2017, leaving two of the 19 investigated open.
They were investigating alleged offences of infidelity in the custody of documents and violation of secrets, as a result of several allegations (including a complaint by the Public Prosecutor's Office) of leaking examinations to opponents in selective proceedings for medical practitioners derived from the Public Employment Offer.
19 were medical specialties and persons under investigation. According to the order issued today, the charges against 17 people have been filed and only proceedings will be opened. They will return to court for further investigation against two people in the specialty of Plastic Surgery.
The alleged irregularities led to the resignation of Counsellor Jon Darpón and forced Osakidetza to repeat five examinations in three categories.
