CAF has secured a $250 million contract in France to supply 22 regional trains
The consortium of CAF and Alstom will supply 22 Regiolis trains to the operator SNCF Voyageurs for the Provence-Alpine region of Côte d'Azur. CAF will design and manufacture the trains and Alstom will supply various equipment for the unit.
CAF has reached a new contract in France valued at EUR 250 million . The company based in Beasain will supply 22 Regiolis trains to operator SNCF Voyageurs for the Provence-Alpine region of Côte d'Azur.
SNCF Voyageurs, the company in charge of operating regional railway services, "will renew the confidence placed inthe CAF-Alstom consortiumwith this new demand for regional trains ", CAF stressed in a statement.
Under the new contract, CAF will complete the fleet of 17 trains that precede it and replace the units currently in operation on the Marseilla-Aubanha-Toulon-Hyères and Marseilla-Toulon-Les Arcs Draguignan lines.
CAF will design and manufacture the trains at the Reichshoff plant in Alsace, and Alstom will be in charge of providing some equipment for the unit.
These are six-car Regiolis regional electric trains with capacity for 310 passengers.
CAF has two factories in France: the Bagneres-de-Bigor factory, which specializes in the manufacture of trams and short trains, and the Reichshoffen factory, which manufactures trains more than 50 metres long.
