The price of natural gas has risen by more than 30% in European markets and stands at EUR 69 per megawatt hour (MWh) due to the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East.
According to data provided by Bloomberg, gas delivery in theDutch TTF market (reference in Europe) to one month increased 30.02% compared to the previous closure.
Last Friday the gas had a volatile day,grew 5.23% and closed at 53.38 euros per MWh.
The escalation has intensified since the US and Israel launched an offensive against Iran on 28 February . The operation that has provoked Iran's response has opened tension in the Middle East.
This conflict has also caused the fear of blocking the Strait of Hormuz , a strategic transit through which much of the world trade in oil and gas flows. This uncertainty about energy supply is pushing prices up in international markets.
