Talgo started a selection process earlier this year to hire 200 people at its main plant in the Alavesa town of Rivabellosa, according to sources from the Basque company.
The hiring of these 200 people was announced last month by Talgo's president, José Antonio Jainaga, who has hired 53 qualified professionals in the first two months of the year.
The aim is to increase the industrial capacity of the Rivabellosa plant — the main one in the group, currently around 700 workers — to meet the demand portfolio, which totals EUR 6 billion.
The company has stressed that this reinforcement "responds not only to a specific need for production, butalso to a structural strategy aimed at strengthening industrial talent and ensuring sustainable growth, while enabling the company to develop the main projects it will undertake in the coming years. "
The company is not only looking for professionals with experience in the sector; these 200 new jobs are also aimed at workers in other regions, industrial professionals outsidethe railway sector and trainee vocational training students.
He 's looking for industrial profiles (mechanics, welding, electricity, engineering, middle or higher professionals), but he's also looking for a specialized and technical profile, because 5% (10 people) of those hired will be engineers in the industrial specialty.
In addition to hiring staff, Talgo will invest EUR 100 million this year and the same amount next year to modernise the plant.
