Entertainment technicians ask artists for "empathy" for the strike called during the festivities in the Basque capitals
The trade unions negotiating the first labour agreement in the ACV have called for stops on 5, 14 and 26 August to demand improvements in employment and to urge employers to resume negotiations.
Entertainment and event technicians have asked for "empathy" from artists with performances scheduled during the strike days called in August. The stoppages promoted by the unions ESK, LAB, UGT, CCOO, ELA and CNT will take place on 5, 14 and 26 August, coinciding with the festivities of Vitoria-Gasteiz, San Sebastián and Bilbao.
In a media appearance, representatives of the strike committee explained that there will be no minimum service because culture is not considered a fundamental service and recalled that the strike on 15 May was followed by 80% and insisted that they want to reach a "minimum" agreement that guarantees decent working conditions.
The summoners have complained that the sector is "totally deregulated" and have said that temporary work, very long working hours, no respect for legally established breaks, no benefit for working holidays or night hours and difficulties in reconciling work and personal life are common.
As an example of this, they explain that companies are currently communicating shifts five days in advance, requiring that the work schedule be known six weeks apart and that the exact schedule for each day be at least two weeks in advance.
