Osakidetza plans to open the new Arrigorriaga health center by 2030
On the way, work will begin in the first quarter of 2028, on a plot close to the current center, which aims to address space deficiencies and offer new services. The support capacity will be increased with modern facilities covering the areas of family medicine, maternal and child physiotherapy.
Osakidetza plans to start construction work on the new Arrigorriaga health center in the first quarter of 2028 and launch it in 2030.\u00This new project will replace the current building on the Urgoiti Promenade, which will allow, in addition to solving space problems, all facilities to adapt to the needs of future medicine.
Osakidetza has stated in a statement that the Department of Health of the Basque Government will invest 6.3 million euros in this project and has stressed that it is already in the tendering and contracting phase.
The new centre will be built on a plot located on the same Urgoiti Promenade, specifically on a south corner of Teodosia Ortega Park, very close to the current health centre, which has an area of 1,564 square meters and which, according to Osakidetza, will multiply its assistance capacity thanks to modern design, high technology and completely new services.
The new infrastructure shall integrate the following areas and services:
In the area of family medicine, there will be 6 medical consultations, 6 nursing consultations, 4 MIR resident consultations, 1 community nursing consultation, 1 EAP (Advanced Nursing Practice) consultation, 2 blood extraction rooms, 1 emergency room, 1 functional testing room and gym.
It will also have a mother and child area with 2 paediatric consultations, 2 nursing consultations and 2 midwives, and a physiotherapy area with a consultation.
