Getxo will charge cruise passengers a tourist fee of 7.70 euros per night
For those staying in tourist homes, the fee will be EUR 7.15.
The City of Getxo has provisionally approved the Tax Ordinance regulating the Getxo Tourist Stay Tax, which provides for the charging of €7.70 per night toeach passenger docked at the cruise terminal and €7.15 per night to the person staying in tourist homes.
In plenary this Thursday, representativesof the PNV and the PSE-EE, which make up the government team, together with Elkarrekin Podemos, voted on the new tourist tax ordinance, which was voted against by the PP and abstained by EH Bildu, who proposed three amendments which were rejected.
From 1 January, the tourists who will pay the most in Getxo will be cruise passengers, who will have to pay EUR 7 per night, while those who stay in tourist homes will pay EUR 6.5 per person per night, to which must be added a 10% surcharge , according to the foral standard for municipalities with more than 750 accommodation places.
Travellers who opt for tourist apartments inthis municipality will pay 3.5 euros , while lower rates will apply to hotels: 4.50 euros in 5-star hotels, 3.5 euros in 4-star hotels and 1.5 euros in 3-star hotels.
