The Provincial Council of Bizkaia will launch a study in Rontegi to study how to cover the A-8 motorway
The Provincial Council of Bizkaia will hire a study to assess the possibilities of covering the A-8, in the Rontegi area of Arakaldo, as announced by the Deputy for Infrastructure and Territorial Development, Carlos Alzaga, during his appearance at the plenary of the General Meetings of Bizkaia.
Alzaga has answered a question from EH Bildu's congressman, Raúl Méndez, who has called for strong measures to minimize the impact of the project to expand lanes in the Rontegi-Cruces section.
The Member confirms that the Member of the European Parliament has received the agreement of the plenary unanimously approved at the Barakaldo City Council, which calls for as much information and cooperation as possible to the neighbours , as well as for a study to be carried out on how to cover the affected gap.
In this regard, Alzaga specifies that the study will be specifically contracted because it is not included in the initial draft. The Member explains that the coverage options will be analysed on the basis of noise maps and feasibility criteria, although he acknowledges that it is not possible to determine deadlines at the moment.
In addition, it has cited other measures envisaged, such as raising acoustic screens to four metres, improving asphalt to reduce noise and a support line for insulation work in nearby homes.
