Intensive and extensive agriculture of fruits and vegetables (lettuce, melon, artichoke, broccoli and pepper) through fields, greenhouses and irrigation. They also produce citrus fruits: lemon, orange and mandarin.
How many inhabitants does it have?
In 2025, the municipality has 41684 registered persons, 69 per cent of whom (28780 inhabitants) are Spanish and the remaining 31 per cent (12904 inhabitants) are foreigners.
Migration
Of these 12904 foreigners, 92 per cent (11927 persons) come from non-EU countries and the remaining 8 per cent (977 persons) come from EU countries.
A total of 96 different nationalities come together in the municipality.
The largest community is Moroccan, with more than 6300 registered persons (53 per cent of non-EU residents in the municipality).
