Eusko Jaurlaritzako Trafikoko zuzendariak, Estibaliz Olabarrik, udako ezbeharren balantzea aurkeztu du. Balantze horretan 1.154 istripuren berri eman da (ekainaren 26tik abuztuaren 31ra bitartean jazo direnak), 2024an baino % 6,7 gutxiago. Jaitsiera hori gorabehera, hildakoen kopuruak gora egin du, zortzi izatetik hamaika izatera igaro baita.
Istripu hilgarrien kausa ohikoenak gidatzean gertatzen diren distrakzioak, alkoholaren kontsumoa eta gehiegizko abiadura dira. Faktore horiek kasuen % 60an agertzen dira gutxienez, Olabarriren arabera.
Heriotzen kopuruak gora egin badu ere, zauritu larrien kopuruak % 17,5 egin du behera, aurreko udan baino 66 pertsona gutxiago izan baitira zaurituak; zauritu arinen kopuruak, berriz, % 8,6 egin du behera, 572tik 523ra. 2025ean 30 pertsona hil dira EAEko errepideetan.
Trafikoko zuzendaria "oso kezkatuta" agertu da ezbehar-tasaren bilakaerarekin, eta erakundeen eta herritarren erantzukizun partekatua eskatu du. "Denok jarri behar dugu gure alde", adierazi du, eta gogorarazi du kontrol- eta sentsibilizazio-kanpainek istripuak murrizteko funtsezko tresna izaten jarraituko dutela.
