EITB's "Greeting the Glaciers" has won international recognition at the Venice TV Awards
The Venice Television Awards highlight the innovation and excellence of international television programmes, and the project has been nominated in the Cross Platform Programming section, recognizing EITB's commitment to innovative and multiplatform content. "Greeting the Glaciers" premiered in BIKAIN, Euskal Telebista and ORAIN, using the corresponding languages and formats.
The documentaryseries " Greeting the Glaciers ", released in 2025 in what the United Nations has named the Year of the Glaciers, proposes a journey to show the evolution and current state of the glaciers Aneto, Infiernos, Perdido and Vignemale, by the hand of glaciologist Eñaut Izagirre.
There they have visited the beautiful landscapes and corners of the area, also offering images taken from the air. The work also brings a different view of the new audiovisual technologies , since through 3Dand visual effects the reality connects with the imagination. So each section is a unique experience, withartificial dimencreating special images and using virtual production and augmented reality .
"Greetings to the Glaciers" seeks direct interaction with viewers and offers specific content adapted to each channel and support: videos designed for ORAINsocial networks; audio-visual for the "Eguraldia" programme of ETB1and ETB2; and, finally, the offer of the PRIMERAN platform, with access to four sections of the documentary series, thus adapting its content to the public and environment in which it is consumed.
