Osakidetza has opened the process for hiring psychologists at outpatient clinics
Through these professionals, the aim is to better respond to disorders and disorders such as insomnia, anxiety, mild depression or similar in the outpatient clinics of the Basque Health Service. The psychologists to be hired will be referred to the Primary Care and will mediate between the patient and the family doctor and, in more complex cases, the specialized care provided in the extra-hospital mental health centres.
Osakidetza will begin the process of hiring psychologists for Primary Care centers on Wednesday. They will treat mild emotional disorders at outpatient clinics and the registration of candidates will be open until December 3.
The aim of these professionals is to better respond to insomnia, anxiety, mild depression or similar disorders and disorders in outpatient clinics of the Basque Health Service.
The psychologists to be hired will be referred to Primary Care and will mediate between the patient and the family doctor and, in more complex cases, the specialized care provided in extra-hospital mental health centres.
For the time being, it will be a pilot experience and nine places will be offered. In addition to the degree in psychology, it will be necessary to fill one of these positions and to have a master's degree in general psychology in health.
The pilot experience will begin in 15 health centres: 5 in Gipuzkoa (Altza, Pasai San Pedro, Beasain, Irun-Dunboa and Hondarribia), 2 in Álava (Lakuabizkarra and Salburua) and 8 in Bizkaia (Repelega, Castaños, Otxoarkoaga, Rekalde, Solokoetxe, Basuabizkarra and Salburua).
