A person was arrested while walking along the Rontegi Bridge
The detainee refused to give up his way and identify himself, despite the danger to himself and the other drivers.
A man was arrested this morning by the Ertzaintza on charges of serious disobedience to law enforcement officers when he was walking along the Rontegi bridge in Barakaldo and refused to walk through it, and pedestrian traffic is prohibited, according to the Ertzaintza.
The event took place at around 7.30 a.m., when several drivers alerted the Ertzaintza that a person was walking along the BI-30 road, at the height of the Rontegi bridge and in the sense of Getxo, and in response to the warnings received, a patrol of the Bizkaia Territorial Traffic Unit immediately moved to the scene.
Once the pedestrian has been found, the officers have repeatedly told him that he had to leave the road for safety reasons, because it is a road with a lot of traffic and where pedestrians are expressly prohibited from crossing, but the man has ignored them and refused to identify himself.
In view of this situation, the officers have arrested him on charges of serious disobedience to authority and a crime against road safety. The detainee has been transferred to police stations to carry out the relevant proceedings and, according to Ertzaintza, has not yet been identified.
