The summer camp will offer more places this year than ever before in the Basque Country: 4,289
The campaign is aimed at children between the ages of 7 and 13, who will take part in seven-day shifts from 1 to 29 July. Of the total offer, 4,004 will be in Basque and 285 in bilingual mode.

The Udalekuak summer holiday campaign for young people, promoted jointly by the three Basque deputies, will offer 4,289 places this summer, the largestnumber that this service has so far programmed in the three territories.
As reported in a press release, ofthe total number of places, 4,004 will be in Basque and 285 in bilingual mode.
The programme is aimed at young people between the ages of 7 and 13, who will be able to participate in seven-day shifts from 1 to 29 July.
Depending on age, 404 places will be offered for children under 7-8 years of age, all in Basque. The largest volume will be in the age group between 9 and 11: 2,245 places (2,090 in Basque and 155 in bilingual). Finally, children under 12 to 13 years of age will have 1,640 places (1,510 in Basque and 130 in bilingual).
Of all the squares, 1,050 shall be offered in Gipuzkoa, 1,544 in Bizkaia, and 1,695 in Álava.
According to these figures, the number of places has increased by 4.3 per cent over the previous yearand 177 more children will be able to participate: 50 more in Gipuzkoa, 67 more in Álava and 30 more in Bizkaia.
Five per cent of the places are reserved for children with special needs, with the help of specialized associations, to ensure proper integration.
The Udalekuak 2026 programme was presented on Monday in San Sebastián by the Director of Youth of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, Isaac Palencia; the Director of Culture of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, Begoña de Ibarra ; and the Director of the Youth Institute of Álava, Juanjo Rojo .
In his speech, Isaac Palencia recalled that "in addition to being a space for fun, these programmes promote fundamental values such as autonomy, coexistence, the Basque Country, equality or personal and collective development".
At the hearing, Palencia has also reported on the Gazte Oporraldiak programme, aimed at adolescents andoffering 371 placesin Gipuzkoa to young people aged 1 to 17, through which adolescents will be able to enjoy 7, 10 and 12 days of vacation between 1 July and 7 August.
How to sign up?
Registration to participate in the draw, both in the Summer Colonies and Youth Holidays programmes, may be made between 6 and 20 March in the case of Gipuzkoa; between 18and 27 in Álava; and between 9and 18 March in Bizkaia.
The public sweepstakes shall be held on 26 March in Gipuzkoa, on 16 April in Álava, and on 20 April in Bizkaia.
