The Basque PP leaves the school segregation table

The PP has decided to leave the table of the pact against school segregation in the Basque Country, considering that this space "contributes nothing to the education system" and has no real impact on education policies.

The Excellent School Denontzat initiative, promoted by the Department of Education led by Begoña Pedrosa, aims to reduce school segregation and strengthen equity and inclusion in the Basque education system. However, the forum has lost participants such as the unions Steilas, ELA and LAB, and recently the federation of families ofthe Basque public school Ehige .

The PP spokesman in the Basque Parliament, Muriel Larrea, has criticised the fact that the  table is limited to presenting the decisions taken by the Government and that the timetable is "very politicized". He has also called for a thorough analysis of the reasons for the educational results in the Basque Country, "after placing the community at a low level in the PISA report and in the final diagnostic evaluation".
