AEK has excluded CC OO from Korrika for "promoting anti-Euskera attitudes"
The CCOO union will not take any witnesses to this year's Korrika, as announced this Wednesday by the coordinator of Korrika, Ane Elordi, in the radio programme "Faktoria" of Euskadi Irratia. Elordi has explained that what has happened in the Public Call for Employment of Errenteria has been a "milestone", so in the meeting with the members of the union they did not see their performance.
In addition, through a statement issued by AEK, the AEK National Council met on Monday with representatives of the CCOO trade union in the Basque Country and, giving "full credibility" tothe information published bythe magazine Argia, informed the members of CCOO of the "incompatibility of promoting these anti-euskera practices and taking the witness in the Korrika".
people associated with the CC OO union
With regard to the information from the publication Argia, AEK has stressed that "we believe that behind these resources there is not only an action in favour of the interests of some individuals, but also a group that violates resources in an organized and systematic manner, in which there are significant persons related to the CCOO Euskadi union ".
Therefore, in the opinion of AEK, "this organized and systematic practice goes against the universal knowledge of the Basque Country (...) against the linguistic rightsof the Basques, that is, against the message of Korrika ".
There is "a contradiction" between these speeches and practices with regard to AEK. "We consider it incompatible to promote these practices and to take the witness in Korrika 24 from the direction of CCOO Euskadi, "he added.
The union members were asked to reflecton what had been announced, and according to AEK, the next day they declared that they did not "see themselves in the Korrika and therefore will not participate."
