One man died in a fire in a basement in Irun and another was injured, the Department of Safety said in a statement.
Emergency services received a warning about 13:45 hours of fire in a basement on Uranzu Street.
The injured person has been taken by helicopter to Cruces Hospital with burns.
Although they have managed to put out the fire, the firefighters have continued their cooling work on site.
