The First Section of the Navarre Court has sentenced a professor at the IES Zizur to 180 years and 9 months' imprisonment for recording 42 women (mostly minors) in the centre's bathrooms and in commercial testers.

The judges have ruled that, according to article 76 of the Criminal Code, the maximum effective execution of the prison sentences imposed in this case is15 years , three times the maximum sentence imposed (5), and that the accused must compensate the 42 victims with between 3,000 and 15,000 euros.

Prior to the trial held on 24 and 25 March, the accused had left €273,000 for compensation, so the court has assessed in its court decision the mitigating of damages, which obliges judges to impose minimum penalties.

The sentence may be appealed to the High Court of Justice of Navarre.

Among the victims was a neighbor who, realizing that the convict was recording him, filed a complaint in 2023, setting the starting point for the subsequent police and judicial investigation.

Following a complaint filed by this neighbour, the head of Pamplona Examining Court No. 4 authorized entry and search of the defendant's home on 19 October 2023, where graphic material, images and videos of several women and minors were found.

As reported by the Navarre High Court of Justice, it has been proven that the defendant used his status as a teacher and, using the personal data of minors, acquired access keys to e-mails and social networks such as Instagram or Snapchat, thus accessing and storing all private files and photos of students.

The defence accepted the recordings, as well as access to personal folders to obtain the images, and declared all crimes against privacy.

The researchers also found evidence of having a computer program to use Artificial Intelligence to represent minors naked.

With regard to the mitigating measures requested by the defence, the Court has dismissed the mental disturbance, undue delay and confession of the accused.

He ischarged with more than forty offences against privacy, continuing offences against privacy, crimes of possession of child pornography and crimes of child pornography .

Similarly,in 10 years  he may not participate in any profession, trade or activity related to minors.
