ELA, LAB and Steilas will take to the streets in Bilbao to defend the demand for the Euskera
They have decided to mobilize "in the face of the judicial, political and trade union offensive against the right to work and live in Basque".
ELA, LAB and Steilas will demonstrate this afternoon in Bilbao undertheslogan "For the right to live and work in Basque!" to demand that the Basque language be "fully official" and equate the demand for Basque and Spanish in public employment, "devoting time and resources to workers who do not know Basque".
They have decided tomobilize in the face of the "judicial, political and trade union offensive against the right to work and live in Basque".
The request of ELA, LAB and Steilas is "very simple: to exercise the right to live and work in Basque and to take measures to do so".
The unions have called on the political parties to "supportthe equalityof Basque and Spanish and to reject any regulations that would leave Basque as a dependent language ".
All the workers and Euskaltzales have been called to participate this afternoon in the demonstration that will take place at 5.30 p.m. from the Sacred Heart, "as a first step", which will take place on 13 June in Pamplona/Iruña , convened by the Council of Basque Culture.
