The Basque Government has launched an information campaign to explain the main measures of the Basque Country's Comprehensive Housing Plan
This is a multi-channel strategy aimed at explaining to the public the main measures put in place by the Basque Government to deal with the residential emergency. Auver coincides with the publication of the Decree on housing measures that will enter into force tomorrow, 12 May.
The Department of Housing and Urban Agenda of the Basque Government today presented the information campaign of the Comprehensive Plan for Access to Housing in the Basque Country, through multiple channels , with the aimofexplaining to the public the main measures taken by the Basque Government to deal with the residential emergency.
The campaign, which will be disseminated in press, radio, audio-visual media, digital channels, social networks and external media underthe slogan "To repair access to housing, the Basque Country has a plan", aims to explain in a clear way the main measures of the ComprehensivePlan , such as the promotion of 7,000 affordable rental housing units until 2028, the expansion of strained areas, the expansion of Bizigune and Gaztelagun, the expansion of 50% of the VPOs.
As far as areas oftension are concerned, the campaign will also focus on updating the Department's own channels, especially with regard to the website on stressed areas zonatensionadaeuskadi.eus, created as a space for information, transparency and public service, so that citizens can access information on declared municipalities, action plans, average income developments, current contracts, regular doubts, special projects and reports from the Basque Housing Observatory.
Measures contained in the Decree
The Decree on Urgent Measures amends twelve provisions in force and strengthens some of the main programmes of the Basque housing system. Among other measures, it improves Bizigune and extends the programme to middle-class citizens by raising theincome of the g to €46,463.29. In addition, it increases to €700 the royaltythat can be received by owners who cede housing to the Basque Government, up to 95% of the average income of the municipality if the housing is in a tense area.
The Decree also updates Gaztelagun's income limits and eligible rental amounts , establishes as eligible modalities therental and subleaseof rooms and increases the coverage associated with thesubjective right to housing , and establishes areserve of up to 50 per cent of unadapted protected housing for children under 36 yearsof age.
The Housing Department has also restored and strengthened the concept of generational dotational apartments for the combination of residential solutions for young people and the elderly. New formulas are envisaged to enable the mobilization to the public park of the homes of older persons wishing to reside in an adapted apartment.
