The popular jury has found guilty the man charged with the murder of Maialen Mazon, who was found guilty of murder with five votes in favour and one against, with the aggravating circumstance of alevossia and kinship, as well as the murder of the twins the victim expected and the abandonment of their two-year-old daughter.

The Public Prosecutor's Office, the individual indictments (the victim's family and the Araba Juvenile Court) and the Popular Prosecution (Clara Campoamor Association) have upheld their requests for 45 years' imprisonment for the accused for murder, abortion and abandonment, while the defence is seeking acquittal.
Maialen Mazon was murdered on May 27, 2023 in a Vitoria apartment, but her body was found the next day.
