Bilbao will become the breathing center of the Basque Country on Sunday with the Ibilaldia organized by the Ikastola Kirikiño
As usual, on the last Sundayof May the great festival of the ikastolas of Bizkaia will be held. This year Bilbao will take over, and the Ibilaldia will explode tomorrow, 31, in Txurdinaga, organized by KirikiñoIkastola. However, the party will not be limited to Sunday, since today, Saturday, the ikastola itself will host a variety of activities throughout the afternoon, from 17:00, such as romerie, clowns, concerts and children's workshops.
In any case, the big party will erupt tomorrow, divided into three main areas. The starting point of the party will be the Ikastola Kirikiño, from where it will jump to the park Europa, and the big center of the party will be the sports centre of Txurdinaga. The organizers have announced that a dynamic and stimulating tour will unite all the spaces, spreading through the streets the presence of the Euskera and the festive atmosphere throughout the day.
The official event of the march will take place at 10 a.m. at the Ikastola Kirikiño, which will bring together members of the educational community, representatives of the Basque Government, the Provincial Council of Bizkaia and the Bilbao City Council, as well as various institutions and agents.
The event will be full of magic, music and dance, and the students of the center will offer a choreography of the songHiri kiribili bil , ending the presentation of the celebration, after which , from 11:00, a wide and varied program of activities will begin in all areas.
The organizers have stressed that the musical offer of the Walk has been complemented by proposals for all ages and tastes. Throughoutthe day, Gozategi, Ezezez, Zuztarrak, Harana, Fruiztariak, Txerokiak, TxapelPunk, Xsakara and Punttu Kakotx, among others, will perform live on various stages.
Throughout the day there will also be a wide range of activities for children, including the MAKUSI spaceof EITB, for the young public, in the Children's City, which will be located in the Ikastola Kirikiño, while for adventurers, at the sports centre, they will have the opportunity to meet the challenge of the Conquis Tower of EITB.
It's not a one-day party.
The organizers have recalled that the Ibilaldia, however, is not a one-day party; it is a project that takes place throughout the year and is born with a clear objective, thanks to the collaboration of the community: to spread the ikastola, the Basque Euskera and the Basque culture to all corners of Euskal Herria.
The Ikastola Kirikiño of Bilbao, which took up this challenge last year, has explained that it has prepared in the capital city of Bilbao "with enthusiasm and responsibility" this unique opportunity to strengthen the use of the Basque language.
