Israel denies Hamas after finding that one of the four bodies handed over does not belong to the hostages, while difficulties in recovering the bodies continue in the rubble of Gaza.
The Israeli Army has confirmed that one of the four bodies handed over last night by Hamas does not belongto the hostages, according to the National Institute of Legal Medicine. The other three bodies were identified as hostages, but were reported.
The surrender was part ofthe ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, but there are still 21 hostages or bodies held by Palestinian militias.
As a result of the delay in returning the bodies, the Israeli Government threatened to reduce humanitarian aid to the Rafah crossing, but this Wednesdaythe trucks have resumed entry from Egypt.
Hamas and the International Committee ofthe Red Cross warned of the difficulty of recovering bodies as a result of the destruction in Gaza and the death of commanders. According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, in addition to the 67,000 dead , some 10,000 bodiesare still under rubble.
