Israel Defense Minister Katz has warned that Israel will kill any new leader appointed by Iran
On Tuesday, the Israeli Air Force attacked the building where the Council of Experts was to meet to elect Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's successor, in the holy city of Qom, in an attempt to interrupt the appointment process.
Israel will abolish any new leader appointed by the Iranian regime, Defense Minister Israel Katz said on Wednesday.
"Any leader appointed by the Iranian terrorist regime with the aim of destroying Israel and threatening the US, the free world and neighbouring countries, and crushing the Iranian population, will be a clear servant," he said in a statement.
"No matter what his name is and where he hides," he added.
Katz has stated that he and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu have ordered the army to use "all means" to weaken and overthrow the regime's capabilities with the US.
