Israel begins ground operation in Lebanon against Hezbollah's "essential bastions"
Defense Minister Israel Katz has warned that "hundreds of thousands of Xitians living in southern Lebanon" and those who have left the region following Israeli warnings "will not be able to return to their homes south of the Litani River" until "security is guaranteed" in the Israeli regions near the border.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced on Monday that the Israeli Army has launcheda ground operation in southern Lebanon, according to a statement published on official Ministry channels.
"The Israeli Defence Forces have launched a ground operation in Lebanon to eliminate threats and protect the inhabitants of Galilee and the north of our country," he said after analysing the situation with senior military officials.

The Minister of Defence has stated that he and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu have ordered the army to destroy Hezbollah's infrastructurein the towns bordering Lebanon in order to prevent the group from re-operating in those areas.
