On Saturday, the Iranian authorities reported that U.S. and Israeli aircraft attacked the Bushehr nuclear power plant and the petrochemical industry area of kHuzestan, killing one person.
The attack on Buseh took place around 08:30 local time (06:30 in the Basque Country), when a projectile hit "near" a security fence.
"As a result of the shockwave and shrapnel of this attack, one of the buildings adjacent to the power plant has been damaged and, unfortunately, one of the security department personnel has died," a facility employee told Tasnim news agency.
"Initial investigations indicate that the attack has not affected the main parts of the power plant , nor has it affected the operation of the plant, "the agency reported, before recalling that this is the fourth attack on the nuclear power plant since 28 February, when the Israeli and US offensive began.
The Iranian authorities have stressed that the plant is operationaland that "due to the large amount of radioactive material available, any serious damage could pose a risk of a major nuclear accident".
