The snow will be at 400 meters on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
The Basque Government's Department of Safety will activate the yellow snow alert on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, which will enter into force at 9 p.m. on Wednesday and will continue until 9 a.m. on Thursday.
During the afternoon and night of Wednesday, the snow level will be between 700 and 900 metres, with faint rainfall, especially on the Cantabrian side, which may be occasionally more intense, during which time the maximum accumulation at 1,000 metres will be one centimetre.
In the early morning and early hours of Thursday, the level could drop to 400-600 meters, but rainfall will be weak and dispersed.
According to the Basque Meteorology Agency (Euskalmet), on Friday the snow level will return to 1,000 metres, with maximum temperatures rising and minimum temperatures falling.
