The Basque audiovisual sector has agreed to create the Film Academy
The Basque audiovisual sector will have its own Film Academy, which was meetingtoday to discuss the subject, and more than 150 professionals have agreed to set up the Academy, which will represent the audiovisual sector of the Basque Country and will serve those involved in this field.
During the morning day, they have shared their reflections on the fundamentals and concerns ofthe academy and have discussed "its identity, its model of participation, its functions and its organizational form." They have unanimously decided to launch the academy and the first step will be the formal constitution of the institution, giving it legal character. They plan to do so in the next few days. "They want it to be an inclusive and diverse space."
It is also agreed that the Founding Commission shall be of a transitional nature until the first election of the future Governing Board, at which time the final structure of the Academy shall be determined.
Representatives of the film academies of Catalonia, Galicia and Valencia have also participated in the meeting, reporting on their experiences and creative processes. "Key keys and learning for this new project."
