Alex Gerediaga premieres this weekend at the Arriaga "Gesualdo WC Station"
The show, produced by the Bilbao Municipal Theatre, tells the story of the Italian composer Carlo Gesualdo.
"Gesualdo WC Station", directed by Alex Gerediaga, focuses on the life of Italian composer Carlo Gesualdo (1560- 1613).
It is "a montage of great visual strength," as advanced from the theater, "where theatrical and cinematographic language come together and, this time, live music is also added."
Gesualdo's story is told through four characters in the bathrooms of a railway station, and Arrate Etxeberria, Txubio Fdez. de Jáuregui, Sandra Fdez, Aguirre and Aitor Borobia play them.
Voices Soft will be sung by the Basel (Switzerland) group A cappella, madrigales de Gesualdo.
The performances of "Gesualdo WC Station" will have overwritten in Spanish, Basque and English, both in the parts sung and in the oral text, and tickets are for sale at a price ranging from 19 to 36 euros.

Dejabu's work "The Return" has won the Donostia Theatre Award
in 2025 in San Sebastian it was the best work offered by a professional company in Basque for the adult public, according to the judgment. The company will receive a prize of 12,000 euros and a painting as an award, on 27 March, and the winning play will be played.
Tanttaka premieres in the Arriaga the play "Disobedient 18/98"
The play, written by Maria Goiricelaya and adapted and directed by Fernando Bernués and Mireia Gabilondo, draws a path of civil disobedience and plunges the viewer into the 18/98 summary. The Basque version will be released today, January 8, in the Arriaga, and the Spanish version tomorrow, January 9, on the same stage. Arriaga will offer concert and stage tours to the composer who named him
On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the early death on 17 January 2026 of composer Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga, who died at the age of 19, the Bilbaia theatre bearing his name will make a double proposal. On January 17, the orchestra directed by La Ritirata Josetxu Obregón will offer the concert Arriaga and the echo of his time , and on January 10 and 24, and on February 1, in the morning, there will be theatrical tours prepared by actors Koldo Olabarri and Ainhoa Etxebarria. Tickets for the concert can be purchased for between 26 and 52 euros, and for tours for 15 euros.

The first play to be seen in the new municipal theatre in Bilbao is "The Story of a Memory."
